WynTree nursery readies 25,000 seedling capacity

CACL’s WynTree nursery in Point Cook Coastal Park has completed infrastructure upgrades that will allow volunteers to care for up to 25,000 seedlings and 15,000 advanced trees this winter. The investment, supported by Parks Victoria and Wyndham City Council, means the community-owned nursery can meet growing demand from councils and landholders right across Melbourne’s west.

Volunteer growers trained through Tree Project kits will return thousands of seedlings for hardening at the nursery before planting days commence. Work-for-the-Dole participants continue to play a key role in irrigation, maintenance, and customer service, ensuring the social enterprise model creates employment alongside canopy outcomes.
